1. MARINE ELECTRO-TECHNOLOGY 

One of the best book to brush up marine electricals, book almost covers all topic in marine electricals. I recomment to go through contents to refresh your electrical knowledge.

2. CONTROL ENGINEERING

Not only Electrical ETO must have strong basic about control engineering he must be able to demonstrate & rectify any fault in control part like sensor, transducer, PLC, SCADA,etc.

3. SOLAS

Yes there is no excuse when it comes to safety. Everbody onboard must know how to use safety equipments which includes Operation of Life boat Life Raft & Rescue boat, Fire fighting Appliances, Life saving equipments etc. Although Drills, Safety meeting are conducted frequently onboard but still good to know things. ETO must know regulation for Emergency generator, Switchboards, Steering Gear sytems,.etc.

Good to know latest regulation, Since ETO will be resposible for E-Waste. So he must be aware about how to discard E-waste like Batteries, Fused Lights, Electronic components,.etc
