Seamen is a person who gets cheated very easily. It happens when he meets up untrustworthy people when he is out for shore leave, official work in a new place. I am posting some of the apps that seafarers must have while at sea/home/job, etc.

1. GOOGLE MAPS  

Google maps come pre-installed in a smartphone if not please do install it on your phone. It is a very essential app when you are new to any place. By Google map, you can plan your leave in a better way if you have made up your mind for shopping, visiting attractions, etc. If you dont know how to come back from the point you have started you can just bookmark your current location by using phone GPS in a map so that if you are stuck in any place you can come back on your own. You can share your location with colleague so that they can also help you out.

Google Translate one of the best apps from GOOGLE INC., which translates your language to any foreign/regional language. This app has a voice recognition feature that records voice & then translates if you are unable to type letters. Also, the Image translation feature is integrated with it so that you can translate image text to your known language. This app is very helpful especially during shore leave talking to a cab driver, shopkeeper,.etc

One of the best app Currency converter app. Untrustworthy people cheat telling improper rate. So dont get cheated its better to check rates for currency before you go outside. If you are using FOREX cards issued by your bank, You can contact the bank & request for funds on the desired currency. Some people carry USD to their home & wait until to get the best rates so this app is a good choice, every day they can track rise & fall in exchange rates.
